Thank you so much for choosing to stay at The Mod Lodge for your vacation! We appreciate your patronage and want to make sure you have everything you need during your stay.
HOW DO I ENTER THE HOUSE?
There is an electronic Lock on the front door to access the home. You will receive a code before check-in time.
When leaving, make sure the front and back doors are completely closed and locked.
WHO MIGHT I SEE ON THIS PROPERTY DURING MY STAY?
The property managers may come by if there is an issue. The groundskeeper may show up as well to work on landscaping.
Western North Carolina is home to black bears. They are beautiful to watch, but should never be intentionally fed, and trash should always be secured during your stay.
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE TRASH?
There is one large can for trash and one large can for recycling, located just inside the gate on the right side of the house. All trash MUST be bagged appropriately.
Trash is picked up every week on Wednesday. Please make sure that you pull the can to the end of the driveway so it can be picked up. Since we have bears please do not put the trash out until the morning and remove the carabiners that help keep the bears out.

Yes! The router is located to the right of the couch in the living room.

CAN WE DRINK THE WATER?
Absolutely. The water is safe to drink!
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE HOUSE?
There is a regular drip coffee maker and a coffee bean grinder. We provide coffee filters, tea, and some sugar. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of pots, pans, and dishes. Feel free to use any available spices or condiments. We provide some toiletries for your use: tooth brush, shampoo, and conditioner.
This is a “well-behaved-pet” friendly home - pets are not allowed on furniture or beds. We have provided two dog crates under the primary bed. One is large and the other is small. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet, if our maintenance staff have to clean up after your pet there will be an additional charge of $75. There is a couch cover you can use if your pet must join you on the couch.

HOW DO I WORK THE T.V.?
The TV is a smart TV please feel free to login to your account to stream
HEAT AND A/C
Feel free to control the thermostat to your liking. Please set it back to 68 degrees on your departure.
WHAT TO DO IN A POWER OUTAGE
Don’t panic! Duke Progress will get the power back on as soon as they can. There is a flashlight located on the shelf to the left of the washer and dryer.
WHAT IS AROUND THE HOUSE?
The short answer? Everything! The Mod Lodge is conveniently located only minutes away from downtown Asheville, where there are great locally owned restaurants and shops and numerous hiking trails.

One World Brewing has drop in yoga classes 5.3 miles, 8 minute drive. If you forgot your mat there is one for your usage, enjoy!
HIKING
Check out the website or Mobile App “AllTrails” (full link below) to see hiking options in our area. This site allows you to see the length of trails, relative difficulty, estimated time, and feedback from other hikers.
Check-Out Instructions
Please be respectful of our 10:00 a.m. check-out time.
- Remove all used sheets and leave in a pile on the bed(s).
- Place all used towels in front of the washing machine and start one load in the washer with the laundry detergent provided.
- Put all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start a cycle.
- Remove all trash, there is a large can for trash and one large can for recycling, located just inside the gate on the right side of the house.
- Please ensure that you pick up after your pet.
- Close and lock all doors and windows.
- Turn off all lights.
