Thank you so much for choosing to stay at Orchard View Log Cabin for your vacation! We appreciate your patronage and want to make sure you have everything you need during your stay. 

 

 

HOW DO I ENTER THE HOUSE?

There is a digital lock on the front door. 

Enter the last four digits of  the cell phone you used to make your reservation and press the check mark to open the door.

WHO MIGHT I SEE ON THIS PROPERTY DURING MY STAY? 

The property managers may come by if there is an issue. The groundskeeper may show up as well to work on landscaping.

Western North Carolina is home to black bears. They are beautiful to watch, but should never be intentionally fed, and trash should always be secured during your stay. 

 

WHAT DO I DO WITH THE TRASH?

Please place ONLY bagged trash in the trash bin. Depending on the length of your stay, one of our property managers may come by to collect the trash. Secure all garbage at the end of your stay in the garbage can located inside the secured shed.

 

 

CAN WE DRINK THE WATER? 

Absolutely. The water is safe to drink!

 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE HOUSE?

This home uses a septic system for waste removal. Please do not allow any food debris or oils to go into the sink drain. Please only flush toilet paper (NO flushable wipes/feminine products/tissues etc.) 

 

Carpenter bees outside do not sting. They are very common with log cabins. They like to bore into wood but are otherwise harmless. We have pest control spray on a set schedule. 

AMENITIES

  • Slippers and cozy socks are provided to encourage a shoe-free stay. Leave for laundering once worn. 
  • Linens for the Loft futon bed are in the wicker chest. 
  • Bedrooms offer cozy robes (please leave for laundering if worn). 
  • Dark washcloths are provided for makeup. 
  • Lawn games-Cornhole, Horseshoes and Football in outdoor shed. 
  • Cooler & Dog bed in basement storage. Iron, Ironing board, and Beach Towels in Hall Closet. 
  • Fire Extinguishers are in the cabin on every floor. 
  • Backyard Gas Grill & Fire pit with chairs for your pleasure (please purchase firewood at grocery/gas station).

 

 

HOUSE RULES

  •  We can accommodate up to 6 guests. 
  • We do not allow candles of any kind.
  • This is a NON-SMOKING home: Smoking is only allowed outside of the home. 
  • Please dispose of cigarette/cigar butts properly in outside containers on the back deck & patio. 
  • Please use the Fire pit responsibly to prevent forest fires.
  • Please be respectful of the cabin and the surrounding neighbors; no events or parties allowed.
  • Quiet Hours-10pm-7am.The leaseholder must be at least 25 years old and actively staying at the property during the stay.
  • Do not leave any food outside and do not feed the bears.
  • Secure all garbage at the end of your stay in the garbage can located inside the secured shed.

PETS

  • We are a Dog-friendly rental property and allow up to 2 dogs.
  • We do charge an additional pet fee of $75 (total, not per pet).
  • Dog(s) MUST be house trained and are NOT allowed on the beds or other furniture.
  • Dog(s) MUST be crated if you are not physically with them in the cabin.
  • Bag and discard all pet waste in the outdoor garbage in the shed.

 

 

 

HOW DO I WORK THE T.V.?

The TV in the living room as a Roku that you can use to stream from any service that you subscribe to. 

 

 

GRILLS

The propane grill on the lower back patio. Enjoy grilling and please let our property managers know if you use the last of the propane so that we can ensure the next guests have a full tank. 

 

HEAT AND A/C

Thermostat is located just past the kitchen. It is set to get no warmer than 77 degrees and get no cooler than 62 degrees. Please feel free to manually adjust up or down during your stay. 

 

 

FIREPLACE

The indoor fireplace is electric. Just turn it on and enjoy!

 

 

WHAT TO DO IN A POWER OUTAGE

Don’t panic! There is a flashlight and extra batteries located under the kitchen sink.

 

 

WASHER/DRYER

The laundry room is downstairs. We’ve left a few laundry pods above the washer in case you would like to wash a load while you are here.

WHAT IS AROUND THE HOUSE?

The cabin is in a great central location with easy access to Lake Lure, Tryon, Hendersonville, Black Mountain, and Asheville. It’s the perfect home base to explore all that Western North Carolina has to offer, while still private enough to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Check-Out Instructions

Please be respectful of our 10:00 a.m. check-out time.

 

  • Remove all used sheets and leave in a pile on each bed. 
  • Place all used towels in the laundry room and start one load in the washing machine. 
  • Load any dirty dishes and start the dishwasher. 
  • Make sure all trash is bagged and placed in the garbage can located inside the secured shed.
  • Lock all doors and windows and turn off all lights.
